Laser therapy, also referred to as cold laser therapy or low-level laser therapy, offers numerous advantages for dogs, including:

  • Pain relief: It alleviates pain by warming tissue spaces, which stimulates the release of endorphins.

  • Wound healing: The therapy accelerates healing by promoting cell regeneration and enhancing blood flow.

  • Reduced risk of infection: It helps prevent infections in healing wounds through improved circulation.

  • Less scarring: Laser therapy encourages organized healing, resulting in less noticeable scars.

  • Improved mobility: It enhances a dog's mobility and overall quality of life.

  • Boosted immune system: Laser therapy can strengthen a dog's immune response.

  • Enhanced range of motion and strength: It improves both range of motion and muscle strength.

Laser therapy is effective for various conditions such as post-surgery care, osteoarthritis, ear infections, abdominal pain, vomiting,, pancreatitis, soft tissue injuries, hip dysplasia, and joint pain. The veterinary community considers laser therapy safe and effective; however, protective goggles are typically used during treatment to safeguard a dog's eyes from laser beams.
